Run! don’t walk to see this show at The Menier Chocolate Factory! “Losing it” is about living, loving, marriage, being human and Ruby Wax’s experiences of depression and the mental illnesses around that disease.
The first half of the show is a laugh a minute, 2nd half gets deeper, always with the edge of humor. Then at the end there’s a Q&A session with the audience and Ruby Wax shines bright with her exceptional interviewing skills and open honesty.
There was someone in the audience that had been in one of her groups at the The Priory (The Ritz Carlton of rehabs here in London) and other very candid, honest, open questions and discussions.
A friend visiting from Hamburg, Andrea, and I had had a pretty full on day. We’d started with lunch just off Regent Street at a cool tea house. Headed to Selfridges for a very lovely exhibition on fish and our oceans (added pictures below) and then squeezed in a Jivamukti yoga class with Stewart Gilchrist before heading to see “Losing it”. Ending the night with a glass of Malbec and chatting a little about how moved we both felt after the show and day.
The “Discover Project Ocean” exhibition at Selfridges had a wall with soft and hard coral. All the coral had been confiscated at Heathrow, I found that pretty shocking.
